Gillian Anderson Comes Out as Pansexual
Gillian Anderson is defining her sexuality.
The X Files actress recently confirmed that she labels her sexuality as pansexual, or attracted to all sexes, telling The Australian in an interview published Sept. 10, “In my younger years I was in relationships with women.”
Despite her fluid approach to sexuality, Anderson emphasized to The Sunday Times in an interview published Aug. 15 that she considers the man she is currently with—although she didn’t confirm an identity, she’s been on and off with The Crown creator Peter Morgan since 2016—her “life partner.”
“I think I would feel the same way if it were a woman,” Anderson considered. “I’d feel, ‘This is my life partner.’ When I was younger, there were parts of my brain that thought [women] were temporary.”
Anderson—mom to Piper, 31, with ex Clyde Klotz as well as Oscar, 19, and Felix, 17, with ex Mark Griffiths—confirmed she had her first relationship with a woman in high school, but didn’t know how to define her sexuality until more recently.
