Why Zoey Deutch is Calling Jimmy Tatro Her “Beyoncé” After Their Engagement
Zoey Deutch set up a new term to describe her relationship with fiancé Jimmy Tatro.
The Juror #2 actress revealed she doesn’t like the term “fiancé,” and has opted to use a hilariously similar name to describe her engagement instead.
“’Fiancé’ is such a weird word,” Deutch, 31, said during a Nov. 26 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “It just sounds a little pretentious. It’s like, ‘my fiancé,’ so I just sort of say ‘Beyoncé.'”
As for how her husband-to-be feels about the name swap, she admitted, “I don’t know how he feels about it, but anyway.”
She also revealed that her engagement—which she announced in a sweet Instagram post in September—to Tatro, 33, wasn’t a surprise at all.
“I probably shouldn’t say it, but I saw it coming,” she explained. “I felt it a little.”
“We were on vacation in Corsica, and I had meticulously planned the trip — I moonlight as a travel agent,” she jokingly told host Jimmy Fallon. “And we arrived there, and he tried, nonchalantly, to be like, ‘Hey, so I planned dinner on Monday.’ And I was like, ‘So did I. I’m sure you saw on the Google doc.’ “
