Tuc Watkins, Daria Berenato, Thomas Dekker & Brenna D’Amico Set For “Gay Zombies” Comedy-Horror ‘Zombois’
EXCLUSIVE: Tuc Watkins (The Mummy), Daria Berenato (former WWE star Sonya Deville), Thomas Dekker (Heroes) and Brenna D’Amico (Descendants) are set to star in horror-comedy Zombois from writer-director Garrett Abdo.
Due to enter production in Atlanta this month, the feature centers on a group of college seniors on break in the North Georgia Mountains who discover a guarded secret and a contagion that turns their getaway into a brutal battle for survival. Rounding out the cast are Adam Huss (Power) and Aaron Goldenberg.
Glendon Palmer will produce alongside Abdo, Brian Yuran and Michael Buttiglieri. Osvaldo Silvera will serve as director of photography and Jeremy O’Keefe is casting.
This marks Abdo’s second feature film after Exit Interviews which also starred Watkins, Huss and Dekker. Writer-director Abdo is the managing partner of the Atlanta Comedy Theater, which has helped launched a number of U.S. stand-ups.
“My last film, Exit Interviews, was deeply dramatic emotional therapy so I wanted to follow it up with something totally on the opposite end of the spectrum – something fun and outrageous, so gay zombies felt like it fit the mold,” explained Abdo.
Added Watkins: “Sexy, scary, and laugh-out-loud funny, Zombois is going to be one hell of a ride. I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
Watkins is repped by Greene Talent and Karen Forman Management. Berenato is repped by Luber Roklin Entertainment and AGMB. Dekker is repped by Untitled and D’Amico is repped by Formation and Zero Gravity.
