A Florida airport is being renamed in honor of President Trump around the same time the president unveiled renderings for his planned presidential library to be located in Miami.
NPR reported that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill allowing Palm Beach International Airport to be renamed the President Donald J. Trump International Airport. Later Monday, Trump also posted a video and renderings for his presidential library. The video shows a tower in Miami’s skyline, with Trump’s name emblazoned on it as a spire stretches high into the sky.
NPR reported that a credit says the design comes from the Miami-based firm Bermello Ajamil. The library is set to go on a 3-acre site that was donated by Miami Dade College. The land was valued at $67 million, according to NPR.
Since beginning his second term, Trump has worked to put a lasting imprint on federal properties, especially the White House. Trump largely removed the iconic White House Rose Garden and replaced it with a paved patio and chairs. The garden dated back to 1902 and first lady Edith Roosevelt, according to House Beautiful. Subsequent presidents and first lady’s expanded and cultivated the garden until President Trump’s more drastic changes.

Trump also ordered the demolition of the East wing of the White House and has begun construction on a large ballroom. On Monday Trump confirmed that part of the ballroom plans will include constructing a massive military complex beneath it.
“(The information) has come out recently because of a stupid lawsuit that was filed, but the military is building a massive complex under the ballroom, and that’s under construction, and we’re doing very well,” Trump told NBC News on Air Force One. “So we’re ahead of schedule.”
