Tracy Morgan Comedy ‘The Rise And Fall Of Reggie Dinkins’ Gets Early Premiere Following LA-Chicago NFL Playoff Game On NBC

NBC will take advantage of the NFL‘s massive platform for a special early premiere of Tracy Morgan‘s new comedy The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins. The new midseason comedy will premiere on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT or immediately following coverage of the NFL playoff game between the Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Bears.

The series will return to its originally scheduled premiere day Monday, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. with an encore of the pilot and a new episode immediately following at 8:30 p.m. in its timeslot premiere. The series will continue its run in the 8:30 p.m. Monday timeslot the following week on March 2. The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins also airs next day on Peacock.

Broadcast nets regularly use big NFL games to platform new and returning series. Fox most recently set  a special advance premiere for the Johnny Knoxville-hosted Fear Factor reboot House of Fear to launch following last Sunday’s NFL wildcard game. Last year, Season 3 of the Rob Lowe-hosted The Floor aired immediately following the Super Bowl on Fox.

The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins centers on disgraced former football star Reggie Dinkins (Morgan) who’s on a mission to rehabilitate his image with the help of award-winning filmmaker Arthur Tobin (Daniel Radcliffe). In order to earn back the admiration of his fans and the respect of his family, Reggie will also have to confront the ghosts of his past.

In addition to Morgan, the cast includes Daniel Radcliffe, Erika Alexander, Bobby Moynihan, Precious Way, and Jalyn Hall.

Robert Carlock and Sam Means serve as co-showrunners, writers and executive producers. Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Eric Gurian, and David Miner also executive produce.

The series is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, Little Stranger, Inc., 3 Arts Entertainment, Bevel Gears, Means End Productions and Streetlife Productions, Inc.
