‘The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event’ Unveils First-Look Photos Of Fab Four

We’re getting our first-look today at the transformations at the center of The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event, Sam Mendes’ set of four Sony films unpacking the band’s story from the perspective of each member.

As previously announced, this includes Paul Mescal as McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon. The first look came via postcards distributed at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, an institution co-founded by Paul McCartney. You can view them in a social post below.

We were first to report on the Beatles films from Mendes, all of which will be released with full theatrical windows in April 2028. Sony Pictures is financing and distribute them worldwide. Others appearing in notable roles include Mia McKenna-Bruce, Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, and Aimee Lou Wood as Maureen (Cox) Starkey, Linda (Eastman) McCartney, Yoko Ono, and Pattie Boyd, respectively. Supporting cast includes David Morrissey, Leanne Best, James Norton, Harry Lloyd, Bobby Schofield, Daniel Hoffmann-Gill, Arthur Darvill, and Adam Pally.

Mendes is directing from scripts written by Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan and Jack Thorne. A collaboration between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Mendes’ Neal Street Productions, the films will be produced by Mendes, Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor of Neal Street, as well as Alexandra Derbyshire, in association with Apple Corps for Sony Pictures.

This marks the first time that The Beatles and Apple Corps Ltd. have authorized the use of the band members’ life stories and music in scripted films. Check out the first-look stills of Mescal, Keoghan, Quinn, and Dickinson as the Fab Four below.
