The significance of this recognition lies in its timing. With only six months in operation, Marmon Lift Recruitment, a recruitment company specializing in the lift and escalator sector, was formed after a complete reset that required Ben to step back after legal challenges, re-establish itself from scratch, and rebuild the company under a new identity. During that process, Ben notes that the foundation he had established over the course of a decade became his anchor. He says. “Clients immediately returned after the rebrand, and that’s because they already know what I deliver.”

Ben has maintained that dedication throughout the company’s operations. He explains, pointing to its consistent growth, “Demand has increased to the point that we have expanded our team and brought in new hires to support our active pipeline.” As the company carries forward into its next phase, Marmon Lift Recruitment ultimately stands out for the continuity it has upheld, strengthened by the loyalty Ben has built over time. “You can’t replace relationships,” he says. “I’ve been building connections with clients for almost a decade in this space. That bond holds, and they stay with you.”

This loyalty is tied closely to how Ben approaches recruitment itself. With a focus on passenger lifts, stairlifts, platform lifts, and the broader escalators industry, his model is shaped by the ability to understand what the necessary role truly entails and who will perform it over time.

“I don’t place people and then move them again. From the very get-go, they’re placed in the right role for the right reasons, they stay there, and they add value, which is something I’m always proud of,” Ben explains.

A defining strength that Ben believes he embodies is the instinctive ability to perceive the inherent qualities of a candidate, those that go beyond surface-level characteristics and qualifications. “Anyone can use the same tools, but it’s how you use them, and how you read people that makes the difference,” he explains. Every conversation, then, becomes a medium for assessment. “I can tell very quickly if someone is right. You just know when it lines up,” Ben adds.

Years of working at prominent levels of recruitment gave Ben the ability to gauge contenders in ways that mattered. He notes that he was often a top performer in previous roles, including in banking and the lift industry, which taught him how to identify the right people and the right fit. “I’m very transparent. I don’t hide anything, and that’s why people trust me,” he explains, emphasizing how his approach lies in working alongside clients and candidates to ensure each hire lasts.

Ben’s approach to business is inseparable from his personal experiences. He endured significant loss and responsibility in recent years, including the passing of his brother, but rather than letting it stall him, he used it to sharpen his focus and drive.

“I channel everything into something productive,” he says. “That’s just how I’m wired. “

Over the past year, Ben has taken on physically and mentally demanding challenges, from training for a boxing match to taking part in the National Three Peaks Challenge, while raising funds for charity. Each endeavor reflects his willingness to confront difficulty head-on and to see effort carry through into measurable results.

According to Ben, leadership is an active practice. The aim, he notes, is to create a team that grows with the business, supported by ideas, opportunity, and shared momentum. “I’ve built my business entirely from the ground up, self-funded, without grants, loans, or outside investment. Every piece of equipment, every system, and every detail has been created through reinvestment of revenue and disciplined growth,” he says.

Though Marmon Lift Recruitment is still in its early stages, the speed of its growth and the quality of its placements signal a maturity beyond its age. The rebrand, new systems, and expanding teams all point to a business built on strategy and ambition, including pursuing the UK Government Start Up support for further development. At the center of it all is Ben Marmon, whose hands-on approach and deep understanding of recruitment set the pace for the company’s trajectory. “There’s a lot more to come,” he says. “We’re building something that lasts, and I’m just getting started.”
