Spenser Granese & Three Others Join Lionsgate’s Home Invasion Horror-Thriller From Julian Labrádor
EXCLUSIVE: Spenser Granese (Marty Supreme) has joined the cast of Lionsgate‘s untitled home invasion horror-thriller from director Julian Labrádor, along with Carlos Solórzano (Unstoppable), Forrest Weber (Black Rabbit), and Melissa Saint-Amand (Civil War).
Sources said Granese plays the antagonist leading the home invasion, though further details weren’t disclosed. No word on the roles to be played by the other newcomers. As previously announced, the film will also star Aimee Carrero and David Castañeda.
The logline for the genre picture is as follows: After a recent accident, the only thing on Lorena Figueroa’s mind is her 12-year-old son’s safety. This is why their home security system is so crucial. It keeps a watchful eye on him when she can’t. But when surprise attackers appear, the cameras can only watch as masked invaders stalk mother and son in a real-time home invasion nightmare.
Production on the film has wrapped, with Lionsgate set to distribute after co-financing with Talking Pictures’ horror label Midnight Pictures. Labrádor produced alongside Tabitha Shick for Talking Pictures, and Andre Fonseca, with Jeff Robinov, Dan Clifton, and Adam Maffei executive producing. The current draft of the screenplay is by Owen Egerton and Labrádor, with revisions by Nathan Elston. Lauren Bixby, Scott O’Brien, and Allison Lynch are overseeing for the studio.
Soon to be seen alongside Timothée Chalamet in A24’s awards contender Marty Supreme, a buzzy ’50s ping pong drama from director Josh Safdie, Granese is currently in theaters with Stone Cold Fox, an action thriller where he stars alongside Kiernan Shipka, Krysten Ritter, and Kiefer Sutherland. Upcoming, the actor also has the sci-fi romance Synthetic with Charlie Cox and Haley Bennett, on which we were first to report, as well as the horror film Crossed. He is repped by Untitled Entertainment and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
Previously seen on ABC’s Will Trent and in Amazon MGM’s Unstoppable, opposite Jennifer Lopez and Jharrel Jerome, Solórzano is repped by CESD.
Recently seen in a memorable supporting role opposite Jason Bateman, Jude Law, and Troy Kotsur in Netflix’s crime thriller miniseries Black Rabbit, Weber is repped by The Mine and Rebel Creative Group.
Seen in A24’s Civil War and Netflix’s Ozark, Saint-Amand is repped by Wonder Street.
