Selena Gomez’s ‘Spiced Cider Nails’ Are the Perfect Last-Minute Thanksgiving Mani
There’s no shortage of creative new nail trends to choose from this fall, but Selena Gomez just reminded us that sometimes a simple, solid shade can’t be beat.
Heading into the holiday week, Gomez’s go-to celebrity nail artist Tom Bachik shared her latest seasonal manicure: “Spiced Apple Cider Nails.” The singer showed off the warm toffee brown color on long almond-shaped tips while doing her makeup. Bachik shared that he created the one-step look using the Spiced Apple Cider shade from Après nails.
Gomez started off the season as a manicure minimalist: From her viral toasted nail looks to her barely there Sophisticated Silk Emmys manicure, she and Bachik kept nude tones, subtle shimmer coats, and short, natural nails on repeat. For her September wedding, she returned to her signature elongated almond tips with a chrome finish. Since then, Gomez has leaned into elegant-meets-vampy solid nail looks for the fall-to-winter transition.
While her Apple Cider Nails aren’t textbook “toasted” according to Bachik (no golden, chrome, or iridescent finish), the makeup look she created in the reel leans into the toasty glam trend. Gomez used a full roster of Rare Beauty products, including new branded eye patches to prep and de-puff. Rather than a full-coverage foundation, she opted for targeted concealer and warm bronzer application to create the trend’s signature natural-looking base.
From there, Gomez brought in classic toasted tones, including a burnt sunset blush (liquid first, then powder to set), a blurred sienna lip shade (smudged out with a Spiced Cider manicured finger, naturally), and a lip liner duo. To sculpt out her lips—one of the most important steps in any toasty makeup routine—it looks like she used the Rare Beauty Kind Words Lip Liner in rose-toned shades Bold (to trace) and Lively (to define).
