See Sophie Turner’s Transformation as Lara Croft for Tomb Raider Series

Sophie Turner is ready to collect some artifacts. 

Months after the Game of Thrones actress was announced as the lead in Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Prime Video adaptation of Tomb Raider, her transformation into the beloved protagonist Lara Croft has been revealed. 

In photos released by the streaming platform, Sophie poses in a turquoise tank top complete with black shorts and red-tinted sunglasses. The 29-year-old—who shares daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, with ex Joe Jonas—was also equipped with Lara’s signature braid, complete with a few loose strands, and her fingerless gloves, utility belt and gun. 

The Do Revenge actress’ succession into the role follows iconic portrayals by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander. Good Will Hunting actress Minnie Driver also voiced the video game character in the animated web series Revisioned: Tomb Raider. 

“I’ve been a long-time fan of Tomb Raider and the character of Lara,” Sophie mused in a 2025 statement, shortly after her role was announced. “They’re massive shoes to fill, following in the steps of Angelina and Alicia with their powerhouse performances, but with Phoebe at the helm, we (and Lara) are all in very safe hands.”
