RRPD: Officer fired gun responding to disturbance, one arrested



AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person was arrested after officers investigated a disturbance in Round Rock Monday, during which one of the officers fired a gun.

According to the Round Rock Police Department, the officer discharged their firearm, but there were no injuries. Per department protocol, the officer was placed on leave. Police did not share the suspect’s name or what their charge was.

Around 4 a.m., RRPD officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at the MAA Round Rock Apartment complex, located at 1800 Plateau Vista Blvd.

An investigation is now on-going into the incident and what led to the shooting, according to police.

No other details were available Monday.
