Robert & Michelle King Re-Up Overall Deal With CBS Studios
CBS Studios is extending its relationship with prolific creators and producers Robert King and Michelle King, renewing their overall deal at the studio. The husband and wife team, who have been at CBS Studios since 2009, are behind a slew of hit series that have launched over the past 15 years, including The Good Wife and its two spinoffs, The Good Fight and Elsbeth, the supernatural drama Evil, and the Bryan Cranston-led drama Your Honor.
Under the new pact, the Kings will continue to create, write, and produce series for streaming and broadcast under their banner, King Size Productions. Robert King will also continue to direct. The Golden Globe Award-winning and Emmy-nominated writing team have been creative collaborators for nearly three decades and have been married for almost four decades.
“For over 15 years, Robert and Michelle have been an integral part of the CBS Studios family, creating smart, provocative, and often prescient series that elevated a genre and redefined what television could be,” said David Stapf, President of CBS Studios.
He continued, “Their ability to blend sharp insight with heart and humor, while creating deeply rich, complex characters and worlds, is unmatched. We’re honored to continue building with them, and can’t wait to see where their creative curiosity and bold writing take audiences next.”
As Deadline has previously reported, The Kings have two new projects in the works, including a reunion with Evil star Mike Colter. CBS picked up the Silicon Valley-set legal drama Cupertino for the 2026-2027 broadcast season with Colter set to star. Robert and Michelle King will serve as co-showrunners, with the former directing the premiere. Announced earlier this week is the series Vatican City, currently in development at Hulu, which the pair will write and executive produce. Liz Glotzer serves as EP on their projects.

Robert and Michelle King, whose series for CBS Studios also include CBS’ BrainDead and Paramount+’s Happy Face, are repped by UTA and Del Shaw Moonves.
