Nick Reiner’s hotshot ex lawyer back in court to defend ‘rich kid’ accused of mowing down 4 students

LOS ANGELES — Hotshot attorney Alan Jackson was back in an LA courtroom Wednesday — a week after dropping Nick Reiner as a client in his double murder case.

This time Jackson was representing the “rich kid” Malibu driver charged with murder for killing four Pepperdine sorority sisters with his BMW.

Jackson was seen whispering with 25-year-old Fraser Bohm and patting him on the back while they sat in front of Judge Rubinson at the Van Nuys Courthouse.

Bohm, who grew up in a wealthy Malibu family, was decked out in a grey suit, white shirt and a periwinkle tie.

He conferred with Jackson several times during the short “housekeeping” hearing in which both sides said they’d like to get the matter to trial. 

The defendant, a former Malibu star baseball player, has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and murder of four Pepperdine students after he lost control of his BMW in October 2023 while driving 104 mph on Pacific Coast Highway.

He hit three cars, which hit the students, prosecutors say.

The victims Niamh Rolston, 20, Peyton Stewart, 21, Asha Weir, 21, and Deslyn Williams, 21, died at the scene.

The tension was high in the 9th floor courtroom where the victims’ families sat at one side of the courtroom, while Bohm’s family and supporters sat on the other. 

The only words Bohm uttered during the 15 minute proceeding were “Yes your honor” when asked if he understood he was waiving his right to a speedy trial. Jackson said they hoped to “set a trial date” at the next hearing slated for February 10th. 

After the proceeding Bohm could be seen smiling with friends and getting a kiss on the cheek from a relative in the courtroom gallery. As he left court, Jackson told The Post that his client  “is doing great, the whole team is doing great.”

It was just a week ago that Jackson abandoned his famed client Nick Reiner, accused of killing his movie mogul parents Rob and Michelle Reiner.  Jackson informed the judge overseeing Nick’s case that he had “no choice but to withdraw and ask to be relieved” of his duties.

Yesterday when pressed by personality Billy Bush on his “Hot Mics” podcast about whether he dropped the case because of money Jackson said, “Obviously, something happened with my ability, and my team’s ability, to continue the representation.

“But I don’t want you, your audience or anybody else to start speculating as to what that might be. I have not said a word about it.”

He previously proclaimed that Reiner is “not guilty of murder.”

When asked about the Bush interview outside of court Jackson laughed and said ”I thought I did great.”
