Nick Jonas Shares Daughter Malti Had to Be Resuscitated After Birth
Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s daughter is a fighter.
The “Jealous” singer emotionally reflected on their daughter Malti Marie’s harrowing first moments after her premature birth in January 2022.
“She came to the world under sort of very intense circumstances, which I’ve not really talked about ever,” the “Gut Punch” singer shared in a Feb. 4 interview on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast. “But we were expecting her to arrive in April of the year she was born and we get a call that it’s gonna be sooner. So, we basically went into action and she was born via surrogate.”
“We got to the hospital, and she came out, she was one pound, 11 ounces,” the Jonas Brothers member added. “And purple basically. They—these angels at the NICU, kind of resuscitated her in that moment and got her taken care of really quickly and intubated and everything else.”
Nick, 33, revealed that he and Priyanka traded 12-hour shifts at the hospital, where Malti spent the first three months of her life receiving around the clock care and treatment before making a full recovery.
