‘Melania’ documentary trailer: Watch the first footage from Brett Ratner’s controversial Melania Trump project for Amazon
First Lady Melania Trump is sharing the final days of her life before President Trump’s second inauguration in her new documentary, Melania.
Amazon MGM released the first official trailer for the new movie, which is set to hit theaters Jan. 30.
“History is set in motion during the 20 days of my life prior to the U.S. Presidential Inauguration,” she said in a statement to Fox News. “For the first time, global audiences are invited into theaters to witness this pivotal chapter unfold—a private, unfiltered look as I navigate family, business, and philanthropy on my remarkable journey to becoming First Lady of the United States of America.”
The trailer kicks off in the moments just before the first lady makes her entrance at President Trump’s inauguration in 2025. “Here we go again,” she says.
The documentary appears like it will be following Melania as she prepares for the inauguration, takes meetings, and travels with her husband. Their son, Baron Trump, also makes an appearance.
At one point in the trailer, Melania sits in while her husband practices a speech. “My proudest legacy will be that of peacemaker,” he says, prompting her to add, “Peacemaker and unifier.”

In a statement to Fox News, the first lady adds, “The 20 days of my life, preceding the U.S. Presidential inauguration, constitutes a rare and defining moment—one that warrants meticulous care, integrity, and uncompromising craftsmanship. I am proud to share this very specific moment of my life—20 days of intense transition and planning—with moviegoers and fans across the globe.”
Amazon reportedly spent $40 million on the licensing rights for the film. A three-part documentary series is also reportedly in the works to accompany the film, offering a closer look at her life in those 20 days as she travels between New York City, Palm Beach, and Washington, D.C.
The first lady executive produced the documentary alongside Fernando Sulichin. Brett Ratner directed, making his first credited project since 2019.
Ratner was notably accused of sexual harassment in 2017 by six women, including Olivia Munn, Natasha Henstridge, and Jamie Ray Newman.
Melania will be available to stream on Prime Video at some point after its theatrical premiere.
