‘Like Water For Chocolate’ Sets Release Date For Second & Final Season At HBO
We have a premiere date for the second and final season of HBO original series Like Water For Chocolate. The six-episode season 2 will debut Sunday, Feb. 15 at 8 pm on HBO Latino in the U.S. and will stream on HBO Max. New episodes will debut weekly leading up to the finale on Sunday, March 22.
In the final season, Tita (Azul Guaita) finds in Dr. Brown (Francisco Angellini) the promise of a different destiny — one where sweetness offers refuge. But Pedro’s (Andrés Baida) return reignites a forbidden passion that defies rules and traditions. Against the backdrop of a Mexico marked by violence and social transformation, traumas, losses, and secrets push every character to confront their limits and decide how much they’re willing to risk for love and freedom. Amid the magic of the kitchen and the strength of their emotions, Tita and Pedro discover that some loves are meant to burn forever.
“This will be a season of change and growth for many of our characters, particularly Tita,” Salma Hayek Pinault, executive producer and founder of Ventanarosa Productions, which produces the project, revealed previously. “We are proud to partner with Max and Endemol again for this new season, which will be an intense journey, full of dramatic but also romantic, magical events. I can’t wait for the audience to experience how our story concludes.”
Season 2 cast also includes Irene Azuela, Ana Valeria Becerril, Andrea Chaparro, Ángeles Cruz, Mauricio García Lozano, Ari Brickman, and Louis David Horné.
Hayek Pinault executive produces with José Tamez, Siobhan Flynn, Sharon Levy, Lisa Fahrenholt, Flavio Morales, Alejandro Rincón, Clara Machado, and showrunner Jerry Rodríguez. Julián de Tavira directs, Silvia Ortega Vettoretti is head writer, with Cynthia Fernández Trejo, Jerry Rodríguez, and María Jaén as part of the writing team. Series is produced by Warner Bros. Discovery, Ventanarosa Productions and Banijay Americas’ Endemol Shine North America, and Endemol Shine Boomdog.
