‘Jingle Bell Heist’ & ‘Champagne Problems’ Light Up Netflix Film Rankings As ‘Kpop Demon Hunters’ Scores Record 24th Week In Top 10; ‘Stranger Things 5’ Dominates TV
Holiday movies were all the rage on Netflix last week. Well, holiday movies and Stranger Things.
The final season of the Duffer Brothers‘ supernatural drama began rolling out on November 26 with the first four episodes, which generated a record-breaking 59.6M views. All four previous seasons also made their way onto the English-language TV Top 10 as well.
By far the most-watched title on the platform, Stranger Things 5 was followed by two new Netflix original Christmas movies that each put up a decent performance. Jingle Bell Heist, starring Olivia Holt and Connor Swindells, swiped the No. 1 spot with 19.3M views. In second place was the Minka Kelly-led Champagne Problems with 14.4M views.
And, more than five months after it premiered, Kpop Demon Hunters was the No. 3 English film and No. 4 title across all of Netflix with another 10.4M views. It’s now the longest-charting film ever with 24 weeks in the Top 10 under its belt. In Your Dreams, another animated feature, this one directed by Alex Woo, scored fourth place in English film with a strong 9.3M views.
Fifth place was Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, which took home 7.3M views. Also, in its second week on Netflix, Train Dreams snagged sixth place with 6.9M views.
Nothing in TV even came close to touching Stranger Things, but second place did go to Kevin Hart’s latest comedy special Acting My Age with 9.2M views.
