Intelligent transport systems for Singapore

[SINGAPORE] ST Engineering’s urban solutions business will deploy a suite of intelligent transport systems (ITS) solutions for the Land Transport Authority (LTA), the company said in a Friday (Mar 13) bourse filing.

The solutions comprise a new iTransport platform, traffic monitoring camera system (TMCS), and integrated traffic and plant management system (ITPMS).

They will work together to enable smarter traffic management, smoother traffic flow and enhanced road safety, said ST Engineering.

The contracts were secured with LTA in 2025. An ST Engineering spokesperson declined to disclose the values of the contract in response to queries from The Business Times.

The iTransport platform – upon integration with the new ITPMS and TMCS – will offer traffic operators real-time information on traffic conditions across Singapore’s roads and tunnels.

As for the TMCS, it will provide traffic operators with real-time, islandwide visibility of traffic conditions, supporting coordinated traffic management responses to congestion, incidents and major events.

The ITPMS will be implemented on the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway and Marina Coastal Expressway to optimise traffic flow, incident response and tunnel operations management, in a bid to improve efficiency for traffic operators.

Shares of ST Engineering closed up 0.5 per cent or S$0.06 at S$11.15 on Thursday.
