Federal judge blocks death penalty for Luigi Mangione 

A federal judge dismissed some of Luigi Mangione’s charges on Friday for allegedly gunning down United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in 2024, preventing prosecutors from seeking the death penalty. Mangione will still stand trial on his two remaining charges, which accuse him of causing Thompson’s death while stalking him.
