Dwayne Johnson’s Daughter Simone Leaving WWE After 6 Years, Retires Ava Raine Stage Name

“I’m so proud of her,” he told MTV UK in September, before starting to cry. “I’m so proud becuase it’s what I did, and I loved what I did, love wrestling. I grew up in wrestling. She was born into it, too, just like I was. And she said, ‘Hey, I want to do what you do.’”

But what made the Rock so moved by Simone’s career path is that she wanted to make a name for herself on her own terms.

“I get emotional because she’s like, ‘I want to do what you do but I want to carve my own path,’” he continued, emphasizing that she didn’t want him to make any calls to help jumpstart her career. “And that’s a difference that was a big deal that I heard that.” 

Dwayne concluded, “It gave me a profound sense of pride. I helped, with her mom, raise an amazing human being.”
