Chris Appleton Reveals Celeb Hair Secrets: Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande & More

Chris Appleton’s number one job is to eliminate bad hair days.

So while his job as a celebrity stylist may come with some perks—his client list, after all, boasts names such as Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Ariana Grande—he always keeps his eye on the prize.

“At the end of the day, I’m there to do a job, so I always remember that,” he told Hot Goss’ Eyal Booker and Lonnie Marts, though he admitted his relationships sometimes transcend the professional. “I think it crosses over organically. I think the people I work with I’ve worked with for a long time, so there’s definitely a friendship there.”

That out-of-the-chair friendship, the 42-year-old detailed, includes asking for the occasional piece of advice and texting back and forth: “There’s all sorts of memes in the group chats, fun ones.”

Having those close bonds, and the long histories he has with his clients, means Chris has been there for some of his celebrities’ biggest style moments, such as Ariana’s ponytail era. 

“I didn’t invent it, she already had a ponytail,” he explained. “I just kind of—that’s what I like to do. I take something and, ‘How can I put my stamp on it?’ And that became a thing.”
