Carl Radke was “blown Away” By Chrissy Teigen’s post crediting him for her sobriety: “Overwhelming in the best way”
Bravo super fan Chrissy Teigen recently sat down with Carl Radke for a chat about sobriety on her Self-Conscious podcast, after which she credited their conversation for helping her get sober again after relapsing. When DECIDER caught up with Radke—who was promoting the upcoming 10th season of Summer House and his new podcast, More Life—he said he was “blown away” by Teigen’s post about their chat.
“It’s overwhelming in the best way,” Radke told us. “I’m so, so proud of her. She’s going to help a lot of people.”
“Even when we were talking during the podcast, the things she was saying to me were so honest and so vulnerable, and it’s so beautiful when someone is willing to make that step,” he continued. “She said things that I don’t know if she’s said publicly. I felt honored and flattered that she would even share that with me.”
On Wednesday (Jan. 28), Teigen shared a photo of her and Radke, who has been sober since 2021, revealing that she “went back to drinking” after being sober for “a little over a year.” What started as her desire to have a glass of wine on date nights with her husband, John Legend, soon turned into a “quiet and consistent” problem.
“The time went from 6 p.m., to 5, to 4, to aw hell, it’s lunch, why not. When it got to 11 a.m., I was like, oh fuck, here we go again,” she wrote. “And I know. I’m a whole ass mom. We aren’t talking the kind of drinking where you slur your words and miss a step on the stairs. It was just quiet and consistent. And god, I felt like shit. I missed being able to pick up my keys for a last-minute grocery run. But it wasn’t messy enough yet to stop.”
According to Teigen, within the same week of talking to Radke, she stopped drinking again, and now she’s over 50 days sober “with no desire to turn back.”

Radke—who first met Teigen and Legend in January 2024 when they invited him to fly back to New York on their private jet after the Sundance Film Festival—understands that getting sober is “not a linear path.” In his case, it took him two years to completely cut alcohol and drugs out of his life once he realized he was struggling with addiction.
“I really applaud her,” Radke said. “She has a massive platform. She certainly has a past. And there are things that she’s got to work through. But I told her, we’re in this together, and I’m here for you.”
“I can’t believe she posted,” he added. “I’m blown away. We’ve developed a really nice friendship. But Chrissy is going to continue to do great stuff as long as she keeps being honest and authentic. It lured me right in. So I’m hoping to get her on my podcast.”
We’re manifesting a reunion on a future episode of More Life!
