Let the man work

I read the article putting down Carney for apologizing to Trump. I can see why, and, if the author who wrote the editorial actually had been observant, he/she would know also. Trump is an unstable egomaniac who retaliates if his little feelings get hurt. Carney tried to smooth over Trump and his move to add more tariffs because of the ad run with Reagan started by Ontario which he seems to think is trying to affect his court battle regarding legality of tariffs. Carney, I believe, has an idea on how to calm Trump so we can continue with our negotiations. His statement that the federal government is responsible for negotiations politely tells his provincial partners to please back off for now. Let the man attempt to do his job!

End of Canada?
Thursday may be the beginning of the end of Canada. Prime Minister Mark Carney has one very narrow chance to save Canada on Thursday. Carney must unconditionally approve a pipeline with full C-5 powers to expeditiously build a pipeline to the coast. Any changing goalposts conditions, that have been the hallmark of past Liberal weasel tactics to block pipelines, will immediately be rejected by Alberta and send Albertans full speed ahead to independence from Canada. Once Alberta is gone in 2026, expect Quebec which really has only ever championed itself and never Canada, to leave Canada soon after.

Taxpayer-funded
It’s unfortunate so many people don’t realize governments don’t have money. The only money they have is what they take from us in taxes. Any money paid out to any public service comes directly out of the taxpayer’s pocket. To those supporting the increases proposed by unions: Are you willing to increase your personal tax rate to cover these costs? If a survey was done in this manner I wonder how many would still support these demands?

Spend your cash at home
Gracious sakes alive! Some Canadians are still going to the United Trump States of America. I wonder why? Donald Trump still wants to make Canada his 51st state. Come on, people in Canada, avoid the USA for now and show your patriotism to our own country by spending your hard-earned Canadian dollars here.
R. MOSKAL
(An increasing number of Canadians are doing just that.)
