Beta Cinema has hired Moritz Hemminger, former exec at The Playmaker, as its new Head of Sales & Acquisitions.
The company confirmed the hire this afternoon. Alongside his acquisitions responsibilities, Beta said Hemminger will oversee sales across Spain, Australia, and all Asian markets.
Beta has also promoted Tassilo Hallbauer. Previously Head of Sales and Acquisitions, he has been promoted to EVP Sales, Acquisitions, and International Co-Productions. Based in London, he will lead the acquisitions and development of English-language feature films.
Before launching Playmaker, Hemminger spent nine years at ARRI. He studied at the University of Television and Film Munich and UCLA. He worked in the story department at New Regency in Los Angeles.
“I’m delighted to welcome Moritz Hemminger to our team,” Dirk Schürhoff, CEO of Beta Cinema, said in a statement.
“Moritz not only has excellent industry contacts but is also a highly respected colleague who combines creative vision with sharp commercial instincts.”
Hallbauer added, “Moritz and I have been friends and industry peers for over a decade, during which I’ve seen him consistently set the standard for excellence in our field. It’s a privilege to welcome him as a partner in shaping Beta Cinema’s future.”
