‘Baywatch’ To Hold Open Casting Call For Fox Reboot
Heads up Baywatch wannabes! Fox Entertainment and Fremantle are searching for actors for the forthcoming Baywatch reboot.
“Baywatch Open Casting Call is seeking dynamic talent across a wide range of roles, from lifeguards and beachgoers to bartenders, buddies and love interests to rescuers and rescuees of all kinds, as well as additional characters yet to be written,” according to the announcement.
The casting call will be held Wednesday, February 18 at the Marina Del Rey Marriott in Marina del Rey, CA.
Aspiring actors, age 18 and above, of all genders and ethnicities are invited to audition for roles including series regulars, recurring characters, and walk-ons, according to Fox and Fremantle. “Performers are encouraged to arrive “Baywatch ready” with wardrobe that evokes a beach setting, while remaining polished, professional and avoiding overly revealing styles and costumes.”
Details are available here. Deadline to register is Tuesday, February 17.
“The Baywatch Open Casting Call gives actors a rare opportunity to join the team of an iconic global sensation that celebrates the California spirit and helped define LA’s incomparable beach culture,” said Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network. “We’re excited to discover fresh faces with authentic SoCal energy as we bring back Baywatch for a new generation of fans.”
Baywatch is scheduled to begin shooting this March on L.A.’s Venice Beach and on the Fox Studio Lot in Century City. The original series was set and shot on the beaches of Los Angeles County for the first nine seasons before relocating to Hawaii for the last two.
Per the official description, Baywatch will feature adrenaline-fueled rescues, tangled relationships, complicated chemistry and beachside heroics that defined the original — now with an entirely new cast donning the show’s signature red swimsuits, contemporary trappings, tensions and challenges, and a renewed mission to protect Southern California’s shoreline.
Following its 1989 debut and a swift cancellation by NBC after one season, Baywatch became a syndicated global juggernaut, airing in over 200 countries, and at its peak, reaching more than a billion viewers every week. The original series starred David Hasselhoff and helped launch the careers of Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, Jason Momoa and Yasmine Bleeth.
Set to premiere during Fox’s 2026-27 season, the series is produced by Fremantle and Fox Entertainment, and executive produced by Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Dante Di Loreto, Doug Schwartz, Mike Horowitz and Matt Nix, who also serves as showrunner.
