Amy Berg’s Jeff Buckley Documentary Gets More International Release Dates

EXCLUSIVE: Piece of Magic Entertainment (POM) has revealed further details about the international rollout of Amy Berg’s documentary It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley.

New release territories in 2026 include Sweden, Norway and Iceland with distribution coming via POM and international rights holder Universal Pictures Content Group.

Confirmed territories to date include The Netherlands (releasing January 8, 2026), France, Belgium, Luxembourg (February 11, 2026), the UK & Ireland (February 13, 2026) and Austria & Germany (April 2026). Denmark now has a release date of January 29 and Sweden, Norway and Iceland will release on March 27. Release plans for Australia and New Zealand are expected soon.

Directed by Berg (Deliver Us From Evil), It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley covers the life of the rising young musician who left the ’90s music world reeling when he died suddenly, at age 30, after the release of his critically acclaimed debut album Grace.

The story is told through never-before-seen footage from Buckley’s archives and intimate accounts from his mother Mary Guibert, former partners Rebecca Moore and Joan Wasser, Jeff’s former bandmates, including Michael Tighe and Parker Kindred, and contemporaries like Ben Harper and Aimee Mann.

Pic previously played at Sundance, CPH DOX, Zurich and most recently, screening in the Best of Fests section at IDFA. Magnolia handled the domestic release.

POM’s CEO Caspar Nadaud said: “Amy’s film captures Jeff Buckley’s artistry with extraordinary depth, care, and intimacy. It’s an honour for us to champion this powerful music documentary about one of the most influential artists of his generation. Partnering with UPCG on this title, after our previous collaborations on titles such as Apollo 11, Tina, and Marianne & Leonard allows us to further our mission of bringing exceptional storytelling to cinemas worldwide.”
