Wall St down at open as yields jump on inflation worries

[NEW YORK] Wall Street indexes opened sharply lower on Friday (May 15), as inflation fears triggered by the Middle East conflict drove up Treasury yields and threatened to halt an AI-fuelled rally.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 133.2 points, or 0.27 per cent, at the open to 49930.26.

The S&P 500 fell 56.1 points, or 0.75 per cent, at the open to 7445.11​, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 346.3 points, or 1.30 per cent, to 26288.923 at the opening bell. REUTERS
