‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 Gets Premiere Window On Disney+
Ahsoka Season 2 is finally on its way.
New episodes of the Rosario Dawson-led series will arrive on Disney+ in early 2027, the actress announced during Disney’s upfront presentation on Tuesday.
“This season, the battles are bigger and the stakes are higher,” she said.
Disney also revealed a sneak peek at the upcoming season featuring creator Dave Filoni and some of the cast discussing the making of the episodes. Based on what they said, it seems Dawson’s assessment is correct. Expect some epic galaxy wars to come.
It’s been quite a while since viewers were immersed in Ahsoka. The Season 1 finale, which aired in October 2023, saw Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) make the jump to hyperspace via a space loop, where Ezra (Eman Esfandi) stowed away, while Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) and Sabine (Natasha Liu) were marooned in the green tundra tumbleweeds of Peridea in a galaxy far, far away. Thrawn’s m.o. is to reassemble the Empire aka “The Thrawn campaign,” which was a series of military and political maneuvers by the blue man to restore the Empire and implode the New Republic.
The three year wait just might be worth it, though, given the teases we’ve already gotten from Filoni. Hayden Christensen is coming back as Anakin Skywalker, which makes sense given the complex relationship between Ahsoka and her Jedi Master. Game of Thrones‘ actor Rory McCann is stepping in to play evil Jedi Baylan Skol after the death of Ray Stevenson, and Admiral Ackbar is returning.
“He’s going head-to-head with Thrawn,” promised Filoni.
