As consumer decisions increasingly move online, a well-designed and optimised website has become essential for driving growth and long-term success. Edward Lemmers, founder of Breeze Website Builder and Silver Dolphin Solutions, has spent over a decade building a practical model of website development for businesses to adapt easily.

Having entered his professional life as a tech specialist, Edward Lemmers chose to go out on his own in the early 2000s, wanting to control his own path. “I wanted to create something that gave me control over my own direction,” he says. “But also something that genuinely improved how businesses build and manage their websites.”

At the time, in Ed’s view, content management systems were falling short. Many CMS platforms were either too complex, too expensive, or simply adapted from blogging platforms that were never designed for full-scale websites. Lemmers saw an opportunity to rethink the model entirely.

“Most CMS platforms felt like they were repurposed for websites rather than built for them,” he explains. “So I started developing something from the ground up that was engineered specifically for that purpose.”

Designed as a complete website building and content management platform, Breeze combines ease of use with deep technical flexibility. It includes a plugin model, a developer-friendly Software Development Kit (SDK), and a template marketplace that allows users to buy and sell website designs.

“The goal was to take the workload off businesses and put it onto the platform,” Lemmers says. “Whether you are a small business owner or a developer, Breeze will work for you.”

He emphasizes that this balance was central to establishing Breeze. Non-technical users can build and manage websites without complexity, while developers retain access to the underlying code without needing to learn a closed or proprietary system.

“Developers do not want to be locked in,” he notes. “They want flexibility and transparency. At the same time, businesses want something simple and reliable. Breeze is designed to meet both needs.”

According to Ed, Breeze’s capabilities extend beyond standard website building. It supports complex features such as event listings, location-based searches, and category filtering, all within a single system.

Silver Dolphin Solutions

Alongside Breeze, Lemmers founded Silver Dolphin Solutions, a full-service digital agency specializing in tailored solutions. The business works across website development, software and application design, as well as SEO, social media marketing, hosting, and digital consulting.

“Our mission is to make ordinary businesses extraordinary,” says Edward. “That means building solutions that are tailored to what each client actually needs, not forcing them into a fixed system. Silver Dolphin Solutions evolves with each client. We provide a level of flexibility that many businesses struggle to find, rather than offer standardised packages,” he added.

After more than a decade of development, Lemmers is now preparing to launch Version 7 of Breeze. The new release introduces enhanced security features such as two-factor authentication, along with a modernised payment infrastructure designed to support growing digital commerce needs.

“This is the most ambitious version we have built so far,” he says. “It reflects everything we have learned over the years and where we see the platform going next.”

According to Ed, Breeze has been developed without external funding. He highlights how the platform has evolved through continuous refinement, shaped by real user needs and practical application.

“It has been built step by step,” Lemmers says. “Every feature has a reason behind it. It is about creating something reliable that businesses can depend on.”

Beyond his work in technology, Lemmers brings a personal perspective that reflects a broader sense of purpose. A musician and a long-time advocate for marine life, he maintains a close connection to ocean conservation efforts, an influence that is quietly reflected in the ethos of his business.

As businesses continue to navigate an increasingly complex digital landscape, Lemmers’ goals remain focused on simplicity, flexibility, and control. As he puts it, “Technology should adapt to the user. Not the other way around.”
