Cloud Lips Were the Biggest Spring Makeup Trend at the 2026 Golden Globes
The 2026 Golden Globes red carpet brought plenty of standout makeup looks, but one trend was a celeb-favorite: cloud lips. The blurred-lip look, which was one of our top lipstick trends for 2026, appeared on plenty of A-listers last night including Jenna Ortega, Elle Fanning, Chase Infiniti, Kate Hudson, and Zoë Kravitz to name a few.
As makeup artist Kelly Zhang previously told Glamour, cloud lips are keeping in theme with Cloud Dancer, the “lofty white” that was dubbed by Pantone as the 2026 color of the year. Following the same light and airy feel, cloud lips add a wash of color with a soft-focus finish, making it perfect for both the red carpet and everyday wear.

According to Zhang, sheer balms and blurred tints are going to be everywhere. “This coming year is all about the blurred lip line,” says Zhang. “Instead of a sharp outline, we’re softening and diffusing the edges for a natural, lived-in finish.”
For Ortega’s “monochromatic 90’s-inspired nude makeup look”, makeup artist Mélanie Inglessis started by prepping the skin with the Laduora Lumeo Skinlift LED Infusion. “In the past five years, we’ve seen a focus on the skin with makeup artists,” Inglessis said in a press release. “Prior to that, skin was so-so and we always had to have a lip or smoky eye or statement blush. So skin prep, which has always been important to us, is now at the forefront of modern makeup and red-carpet makeup. Which is why it’s so important to be able to prep the skin properly,” says Inglessis.
Inglessis then applied a full face of Dior Beauty, using the Rouge Dior Contour in #229 Rose Spice, Rouge Dior On Stage in #390 Redwood Star, and Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil in #081 Latte on the lips for a just-kissed finish.
