Woman at center of Coldplay kiss cam Controversy speaks out
Kristin Cabot, the woman thrust into an international spotlight after appearing on a stadium kiss cam with her boss at a Coldplay concert, has spoken publicly for the first time about the fallout, saying months of silence left her family exposed to harassment and threats.
Cabot told The New York Times‘ Lisa Miller in an article published Thursday that the July 16, 2025, moment — captured on TikTok and viewed more than 100 million times — upended her life, cost her career and subjected her to relentless online abuse. She said she initially withdrew to protect her two teenage children and address the consequences with her employer and estranged husband.
“I hurt people. I hurt good people,” Cabot said, describing her early reaction.
The scrutiny escalated into doxxing, daily harassment and death threats, she said to the Times, adding, “I got 50 or 60” threats, far more than publicly reported. Cabot said she chose to speak now so her children would understand that mistakes should not carry lifelong punishment.
“I made a bad decision and I took accountability for it,” Cabot told the Times. “But you don’t deserve to be threatened to be killed for a mistake.”
