I use my Kindle every day, and I say gift one while they’re 20% off

As a shopping reporter who tests all kinds of e-readers, a question I’m asked a lot is, What’s the best one?

My answer is always: it depends on a few factors, including reading habits and budget.

If you read a lot of comics and graphic novels, I’ll always take the opportunity to recommend my beloved Kindle Colorsoft. If you’re shopping on a budget, you can’t go wrong with the basic Kindle, but, for most readers, I’ll usually recommend the Kindle Paperwhite.

However, today, if I may, I’d like to sell you on a different, better Kindle: the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition.

Right now, you can shop the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition for 20% off and ensure it arrives in time for Christmas.

Why the Signature Edition, though? For starters, the Signature Edition’s on-sale price is exactly the same as the non-sale price of the Kindle Paperwhite. If you think about it, you’re basically getting the premium features of the Signature Edition for free.

The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is the same size as the regular Paperwhite, with a few enhanced features that make it worth the splurge. It comes with 32 GB of storage to hold tens of thousands of e-books, and 12 weeks of battery life, plus the ability to charge the Kindle wirelessly.

The feature that I can’t go without now that I’ve used a Paperwhite Signature Edition is the auto-adjusting front light. Essentially, your Kindle can automatically adjust the screen brightness based on your surroundings. It kills the front light entirely when you’re reading outside in the sun, turns up the brightness when you’re indoors, and even adjusts to the darkness without going full-brightness if you’re reading at night.
