‘Barbershop’ Adds Bokeem Woodbine, Bresha Webb, Langston Kerman & Tiana Okoye As Recurring

Prime Video‘s Barbershop series is rounding out its recurring cast adding Bokeem Woodbine (Halo), Bresha Webb (Hacks), Langston Kerman (Bad Poetry) and Tiana Okoye (Twisted Metal) opposite Jermaine Fowler in the comedy based on the MGM movies.

The TV adaptation revolves around Travis “Trav” Porter (Fowler), who endeavors to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, a legendary barber at the iconic “Calvin’s” barbershop in Chicago. And while the barbers are new, the shop remains just as lively, the customers just as argumentative, and the fades are still the dopest in the city — because at Calvin’s, the community comes together for way more than just a haircut.

Woodbine will play Hustle Mike, Webb will portray Genevieve, Kerman will play Jeremy and Okoye will portray Naimah-Jade.

In addition to Fowler, the series regular cast includes Brett Gray, Punkie Johnson, Roy Wood Jr. and E.J. Bonilla.

The series is written and executive produced by Marshall Todd, co-writer of the original Barbershop movie. Also executive producing are Max Searle (Neon), who serves as co-showrunner; Kevin Hart, Bryan Smiley, and Mike Stein for Hartbeat; Bradley Gardner; Cameron Burnett, and Autumn Bailey-Ford for Prominent Productions; and State Street Pictures. Tiffany Brown will co-executive produce for Hartbeat. Barbershop is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.

Woodbine can most recently be seen in Season 2 of the Showtime series Halo on Paramount+ and in Apple TV+’s Government Cheese. He’s repped by Gersh and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

Webb most recently starred as one of the leads in Starz’s Run the World and can currently be seen this season recurring in Hacks opposite Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder. She also starred in Tyler Perry’s Netflix thriller A Fall From Grace. Webb is repped by Gersh, Linden Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

Kerman was recently cast opposite Jonah Hill and Kristen Wiig in the upcoming Warner Brothers film Cut Off. He also recently wrote/produced Netflix’s Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney, and his hourlong comedy special Bad Poetry, directed and produced by Mulaney, was released last year by Netflix. Kerman is currently co-writing and developing a pilot with Nick Kroll at FX. He’s repped by WME, Rise Management and Ziffren Brittenham.

Okoye can be seen as the lead of comedy series Panhandle, opposite Luke Kirby, which is streaming on Roku. She recently recurred in Season 2 of Twisted Metal opposite Anthony Mackie and also guest-starred in Mrs. Davis, both for Peacock, among other credits. Okoye is repped by UTA and Linden Entertainment.
