Dakota Johnson’s Triangle Scarf Is the Solution to Winter Hat Hair

Strega Nona realness alert. Rather than risking the dreaded hat hair, Dakota Johnson decided to stay warm against New York City’s December chill with a well-tied head scarf. Just a girl and her bonnet against the world! The Materialists star fashioned the garment with plenty of room for her signature bangs to show, but still kept her ears and neck warm, solving that age-old problem of how to cover up without looking as if you’re going skiing. Some of us (read “me”) used to go with a felt headband and a cozy wrap, but this is definitely more downtown, which is where Johnson was, swinging by SoHo to shop at Byredo, home of fancy perfumes and candles (if you get a chance, sniff the Treehouse one; it’s sooooooo good).

In addition to her shopping bag, the star carried a Valentino purse and wore a wool coat that looks olive in this picture but is, we’re pretty certain, the same chocolate brown one she stepped out in last month.

She also wore a white T-shirt, straight-leg jeans and…flats? Girl, get you some boots (we have suggestions) and thick, comfy socks! Are your toes not freezing? A little discomfort for the sake of fashion is one thing but it’s December. This is now a health issue. At least bust out the cow-print sneakers, even if they don’t totally go.

Beautywise, she continues to prove that less is more on a casual day, with nude nails and a fresh face.
