Miley Cyrus sparks engagement rumors during red carpet date night with Maxx Morando
She can buy herself flowers, but did he buy her an engagement ring?!
Miley Cyrus sparked engagement rumors by rocking a show-stopping diamond set in a thick gold band on her left ring finger during a red carpet date night with her boyfriend, Maxx Morando.
The couple — who began dating in 2021 — attended Monday’s world premiere of “Avatar: Fire and Ash” in Los Angeles, walking the red carpet together ahead of the event.
The pop star, 33, and the fellow musician, 27, posed for pictures together, with Cyrus making sure her eyebrow-raising bauble was front and center in every shot.
Standing closely next to each other, Cyrus placed her left hand on Morando’s chest as shutterbugs snapped away.
The Grammy winner made sure the ring was a focal point during solo shots, too, as she kept her left hand visible at all times, even posing with it prominently on her hip.
For the outing, Cyrus stunned in a black strapless sequin gown with a structured bodice, ruffled skirt and train. Morando, for his part, looked handsome in a classic black suit and white collared shirt.
The singer-songwriter — who was previously married to actor Liam Hemsworth — was first pictured wearing the ring in mid-November, according to Deuxmoi.
Reps for the stars did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Cyrus told British Vogue in May 2023 that she began dating the drummer — who currently plays for the band Liily following his stint with The Regrettes –“a couple of summers” prior.
“We got put on a blind date,” she revealed at the time, clarifying, “Well, it was blind for me and not really for him.”
The “Hannah Montana” alum soft-launched the romance in November 2021 by including Morando in an Instagram carousel featuring photos from Gucci’s “Love Parade” fashion show in LA, which they attended together.
The following month, the pair was spotted getting close at the televised “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party” in Miami. During commercial breaks, Cyrus was caught on video dancing with Morando backstage.
In April 2022, the duo was photographed making out in LA, with a source telling E! News in October that their relationship was “very serious.”
They went to a Versace fashion show together in LA in March 2023.
Morando then accompanied Cyrus to the 2024 Grammy Awards, where she won record of the year and best pop solo performance for her hit song “Flowers.”
Not only did the lovebirds engage in a celebratory smooch, but she also gave her “love” a shout-out during her acceptance speech.
Days later, People reported that Cyrus and Morando were living together.
“She is very happy with him,” a source shared at the time. “Miley has changed a lot in the past couple of years. She seems more calm and harmonious.”
The source added, “Everyone loves Maxx. He’s a great guy. … He’s private and doesn’t like being in the press. It’s been good for her.”
The couple was photographed on a low-key date night in September 2024, stepping out to hit up a Future Islands concert in LA.
That November, Cyrus — a millennial — told Harper’s Bazaar how she and Morando — a member of Generation Z — navigate their age gap, gushing that he “inspires [her] so much.”
The two also attended the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, followed by the Academy Awards.
They were last snapped publicly in June during a night out in New York City.
