What’s with WestJet?

When we retired and moved back from the U.S. in 2006, we had to get new credit cards and was advised by my brother in Calgary that the best one was RBC’s WestJet Mastercard. He was correct, it was a really great card. This year, WestJet changed from WestJet dollars to the point system. In August after receiving information on the point system, we stopped using it. After removing the tilt-back seats and added two more in all their planes, we have decided it may be time to look at different airlines. We would like to support this local business and did for 17 years. But there is a breaking point. WestJet used to fly four flights out of Lethbridge every day. We now have one per day that connects to nothing.

Left-wing awakening?

Is this the start of our new mayor’s left-wing awakening? No raising of national flags? He is proposing of such, he will allow the Palestinian flag to be raised at city hall in recognition of the state that doesn’t even exist? Doesn’t sound like a guy that campaigned about managing the city and not some other agenda that the city has no business spending time as this is in federal territory of business. Get ready, you voted his wokeness in. Thought we got rid of the weak link.

In praise of Poilievre

Many people have expressed their reasons for loathing Pierre Poilievre. After losing the last federal election big-time, Poilievre tried softening his image and modifying his political views, but could not maintain such a duplicitous charade. I am overjoyed Poilievre is so honest and forthright. Exposing himself for who he really is has sealed his fate. He’ll never be Prime Minister.

Carney’s our answer

Gerald Herter, you are right. Let Carney do his work. He is our answer for our future. There are too many people in government who are not worth a dish. They don’t know what courage is, but there are two people who did know what to do. They changed sides. The rest of ’em are mad hatters, although that may be a vacuous comment. I wonder what reputation Carney will have if he blocks the proposed pipeline — which he must. Do the right thing, Carney. As you know, too many people who are in position will belch if you let the other side in.
