Hoda Kotb Shares “Worry” Over Daughter Hope’s Health 3 Years After Diabetes Diagnosis

Hoda Kotb is always thinking about her kids.

In fact, the former Today anchor often finds herself fretting over her daughter Hope‘s health after the 7-year-old was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2023.

“Everyone’s got something,” she said of stress in an interview with USA Today published Sept. 29. “I worry about my youngest daughter, who has diabetes. I am concerned. I go to sleep, I watch my phone all night to see what her numbers are doing. I wake up and see. That’s just constant. That is how it is.”

But the 62-year-old—who is also mom to daughter Haley, 9—has learned to work through the anxiety, including practicing breathwork to “release everything I’m carrying.”

“And now I go back to Hope and Haley, tank full, let’s go,” she continued. “We’re all caring for someone who needs a lot of stuff, or we’re going through life stuff, and I just feel like get on your knees and then go climb the mountain!”
